Charles Ernest Blades passed away comfortably in his sleep early in the morning of Saturday, Nov 22, 2014 in Heber City, Utah. He was 94 years old and is survived by his wife Marianne Blades, his three sons, Leslie, Carl and Larry and seven grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was married for 68 years to his dear wife. Opa or Papa, as he was often called by family, was a wonderful father and grandfather who lived by high standards of conduct. He was born in a small farm house in Milton, Ontario, Canada and is preceded by his parents who passed away in 1969 and 1975 both immigrants from England. He served in the Canadian Air Force during World War II as a radio operator. After the war he completed his graduate studies in Organic Chemistry and earned his PHD from the University of Wisconsin. He pursued research in this field for the rest of his working career retiring in 1985 where they lived in Macungie, PA. He was a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions during his long life including that of a Patriarch. His life and service has touched many people over the years. It is sad to see him leave us here on earth, but we are all thankful for the joyous reunion he is having with friends and family who preceded him. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at The Abbington Assisted Living facility at 1200 S. 551 E. in Heber City, Utah on Nov 28, 2014 at 10 AM.
